An Open Letter to SEGA: My Body is Your New Billboard
Posted by Kail on February 16, 2012 at 12:38 AM

The following is a letter to my favorite video game publisher in the world: SEGA. I've been a fan of their games since I was a kid, and I even have a Sonic the Hedgehog tattoo over my heart to signify my love for both Sonic and SEGA. Now I'm extending an offer to them they couldn't possibly refuse.
Why I Love Star Wars, and How I Was the Last Kid to See It
Posted by Kail on February 12, 2012 at 9:28 AM

Growing up I generally kept to myself and learned what to like from what I saw on TV. As a seven year old I had a few friends who were into Star Wars, but I had never seen it. My dad loved it, but him and my mom were divorced and he lived in New Jersey with my brother, while my mom and I lived in Arizona. My older brother Walter, who I refer to as "brother" and he refers to me as "the boy" (we were big Simpsons fans growing up), got to see the re-releases of the original trilogy with my dad, where as my mom wasn't so interested in taking me. Because of this, I never really got to experience the original trilogy.

Recently I was visiting the boys at Blue Core Studios filming the pilot for my new talk show Habit Forming, and during this time I asked them if we could film a quick promo for my book. Well, here it is!
I Got to Play a Game No One Will Ever Play Again - Mega Man Universe
Posted by Kail on February 11, 2012 at 8:13 AM

Back in 2010 I was working as a budding gaming journalist for a gaming site that will go unnamed (for various reasons), and I got to go to the New York Comic Con to do some field reporting. At the time I was a huge Capcom fanatic, so my first stop was at the Capcom booth.
Papa John's to Deliver Terrible Customer Service on Game Day!
Posted by Kail on February 5, 2012 at 9:40 PM

As I speak the Super Bowl is happening and it is 9:02 PM EST. Around 6:45 PM EST I placed an order for a pepperoni pizza, BBQ wings, and a 20 oz Pepsi. I did not receive a confirmation e-mail until 7:45, it said I'd receive my pizza within 30 to 40 minutes, it wound up showing up at 9:10. I'm not the only person who's had problems with ordering from the Official Pizza of the NFL and the Super Bowl on Super Bowl Sunday.
A Movie Lost to Time - Nelvana's Animated Masterpiece "Rock & Rule"
Posted by Kail on February 5, 2012 at 2:54 PM

Nelvana's a Canadian animation studio most people remember for the Star Wars cartoons from the 80's, and they're probably most famously remembered for introducing Boba Fett to the world in the animated short featured in the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special. Other than that, you'll probably recall a series of less than steller pre-teen toons like 6Teen and Total Drama Island, or maybe the Care Bears. The one thing you won't remember Nelvana doing, though, is probably one of the greatest animated films of all time: Rock & Rule.
Time for a Formal Announcement - Slacker's Inferno - There and Back Again
Posted by Kail on February 4, 2012 at 11:48 AM

I've been talking about it on Twitter for the past couple of weeks as something I've been thinking about doing, and now I'm finally ready to talk about it on my website. I've been referring it simply as Book Two, but the official title of the sequel to Slacker's Paradise is Slacker's Inferno - There and Back Again.
My Awesome Sonic Tattoo
Posted by Kail on February 4, 2012 at 9:44 AM

The coolest thing I ever did was get a tattoo of my favorite video game character, Sonic the Hedgehog, on the 20th anniversary of his first appearance. June 23rd 2011 will forever be remembered as the day Kristen Kail abandoned all hope of a normal life. How did it all go down you ask? Well, take a seat and I'll impart what I hope could be some wisdom upon you.
Who DARES Touch the Watchmen?

This has been hot news for the past day or two, and in the time between me first reading about it and now I've been able to form an opinion on how I feel on this. DC's attempt to make a prequel series to Alan Moore's 1985 hit Watchmen called Before Watchmen is going to be awesome.
