Kail Talks Movies - Self-Distribution is the Future for Indie Cinema
Posted by Kail on May 10, 2012 at 1:47 PM

I know I haven't been blogging a lot recently, mostly because I've been trying to pimp my new book Slacker's Inferno and because I've been working hard on my movie Destroy All Slackers. While doing research on how to get a movie made, I've come across different articles by different people about different subjects, so I figured why not start blogging about the process of making Destroy All Slackers, as well as MY opinions on movie making today. That's what this is.
Lemme Clear Something Up About the Catman

When I wrote Slacker's Inferno I laid out a few ground rules for myself. 1.) Write it as if you're telling the stories to your closest friends. 2.) When talking about people who can sue CHANGE THEIR NAMES. My exgirlfriend Felicia, for example, her picture is in the book, but you can't see her face. Also her name isn't actually Felicia. Unfortunately, I didn't catch one thing. A good, close friend, Chris Catoya, was none too happy about some things I said about him in the book.
The Return of the Destroy All Slackers Animated Movie
Posted by Kail on April 21, 2012 at 9:08 AM

For the past three years I've been trying off and on to produce an animated film called Destroy All Slackers, a film about two buddies who start a band together and wind up having a huge falling out when one of them leaves the band for a successful solo career. I wrote and completed four drafts of the screenplay and crafted an entire universe for these characters to inhabit in the Spring of 2010, and I put it on hold until I thought I had enough weight behind me to push this thing through. I think I might have enough weight this time around.

There are some Twitter accounts you just can't wrap your head around. Some are just 14 year old Justin Bieber fans who for some reason have 100,000 followers, some are just bored guys tweeting at the band Smash Mouth to try and get them to eat two dozen eggs for no apparent reason, and then there's @DrDogs247. Don't try to click that, as the account's been suspended.

Slacker's Inferno - The Slacker's Writing Process
Posted by Kail on March 31, 2012 at 12:14 PM

Last year I put out Slacker's Paradise, which was essentially a lot of already released material or notes I copy and pasted from Word documents I had sitting on my desktop taking up valuable space. This year the sequel Slacker's Inferno will be released, which features all new stories that I've never told anywhere in a public capacity. In this blog I'm gonna go through the process of how I wrote the book to show you all that writing a book isn't that big of a deal.
The Official List of Sexual Achievements to Boost Your Player Score
Posted by Kail on March 17, 2012 at 10:05 AM

Often times while sitting alone in my study working on attaining my next Nobel peace prize I will ponder quietly to myself "how did I get to be so great?" There has to be a system set in place to calculate how awesome I am, and retrace my steps to getting to be that awesome. Well, the video games industry solved this problem with the introduction of "achievements," which are tasks you perform in-game that award you with a set amount of points that go to a universal "gamerscore". I decided it was time for there to be a list of sexual achievements that'll help calculate your "player score"
